Ellen, I want you to know the pan is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I washed it with soap and water and began to cook in it immediately. We have had several wonderful meals cooked to perfection, scooped everything out , rewashed, dried and ready for the next meal. It was expensive but a wonderful investment. You do not want to cook on High heat, I have an electric stove and cook at a #3.5 setting, Takes a few minutes longer but "cooks to perfection.
