Made this today mine sure does not look like the picture it did not raise to top of pan and I follow directions to the T.I will reserve judgment until try it

I made this for our weekly Senior's Bible Study and it was AMAZING!! I placed all the juice form the tropical fruit (and just a little from the crushed pineapple) into a small saucepan and added 2 Tbsp. cornstarch, then cooked it over medium heat until it thickened. I cut the tropical fruit up into a little smaller pieces and stirred the thickened glazed back into the tropical fruit. This made it more like a can of pie filling similar to the cherry pie filling in the original dump cake recipe. I used orange cake mix although I think pineapple would have been delicious, too! I sliced the butter into very thin pats and covered the top of the cake then sprinkled coconut and coarsely chopped pecans over the top. It was ready in 45 minutes. The reviews were FANTASTIC! Many said they liked it better than the original Dump Cake Recipe they had always enjoyed! DELICIOUS and a new favorite!!
