ST.Joseph's Miracle Soup

By L D windella

I probably should post this recipe after the holidays, because who wants to think about dieting this time of year. This soup is part of a 7 day diet that was popular in the 70's,but it's good anytime,I like to make it when I want something to eat that's filling and not alot of calories.Sometimes I grate a bit of Parmesan cheese on top.

I've made this soup for years. It's great to have a big pot already made. When u come home from a long day--reheat for a quick pre-meal and it keeps u from eating higher calorie foods. Soup fills you up so you eat less. I also throw in other low cal veggies, like zuchinni or squash, green beans, turnips etc. NO starchy vegs--ie corn, peas--that defeats the purpose of this soup. Sometimes I throw in some carrots (although they release sugar as they are cooked) My sister uses chicken bouillon for hers. Love this soup, it tastes so healthy!!

Does this use a packet of onion soup mix, or a partial amount? How many tomatoes?
