My mom who was born and raised in Germany has been making this soup for as long as i can remember. This is one of my favorite soup, especially when it gets co
oler out.

Ingredients

5 lbs
potatoes, medium
6 medium
carrots, chopped
4 medium
turnips chopped
4 medium
parsnips
4 medium
celery chopped small
1 bunch
scallions chopped
1 medium
onion chopped
4 small
vegetable boullion cubes
4 small
chicken boullion cubes
1 pkg
bacon cut into thin pieces
1 pinch
salt (if needed)

Directions Step-By-Step

Place all chopped vegetables into large pot, add enough water to cover the vegetables. Bring to a boil, then add the bouillion cubes. lower the flame and cook over low heat for about 2-3 hours, then add the Bacon.....cook an additional hour.....also add more seasoning if needed.
