I took this recipe and added some of my own favorite ingredients and it made the most flavorful soup ever. The broth is so good even my picky eater granddaughter loved it. I had to pick the beans out for her but she couldn't get enough. It calls for sweet white wine. I did not have any but I substituted Shaoxing wine which is an Asian rice cooking wine. It goes good with anything. If you can't find that wine in your town you can get it on Amazon.com. It's inexpensive and works great.
Place pork in a large pot. Mix the next ten ingredients together and pour over roast. Cover and simmer over low heat 2 hours. Check it every so often and add water if needed so it doesn't burn.
When pork is tender remove the pork and shred it. Remove bay leaves. Add the pork back to pan and add water to make it soup like. Add the beans, pasta, and Kale. Cover and simmer another 30 minutes. or until pasta is cooked.
