Oven not working these days - thank heavens for Crock Pots! Found this recipe in a very old crock pot recipe book, sounded yummy, so I had to try.

Method:

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

3 c
water
2 small
onions,chopped
3 stalk(s)
celery, chopped
2
carrots, sliced
1 can(s)
14-1/2 oz-tomatoes
1/2 tsp
pepper
1 pkg
10 oz frozen mixed vegetables
1 lb
coarsley ground beef, or finely diced chuck, browned and drained
2-4 Tbsp
beef base, granules or paste
1/2 c
butter, melted
1/2 c
flour

Directions Step-By-Step

Put all ingredients, except butter and flour into a Crock Pot and cook on low 8 to 12 hours (High 4 to 6 hours).

One hour before serving, turn to high. Make a paste of the butter and flour. Stir until smooth. Pour into Crock Pot and stir until thickened. Cook soup on high until thickened.
