Ingredients

pinto beans

ham bone
1 large
onion, chopped
1 medium
green pepper, chopped
2 Tbsp
sugar
4 c
chicken broth
2 c
water
1/4 tsp
cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp
ground cumin
2 clove
garlic, minced
1 tsp
oregano, dried

Directions Step-By-Step

Cover pinto beans with water in a large bowl; allow beans to soak overnight.

Place pinto beans, ham bone, onion, green bell pepper, sugar, cayenne pepper, cumin, garlic, and oregano into the crock pot.

Pour chicken broth and water over bean mixture.
(Enough to cover the ingredients).

Cook on high until beans are tender, 5 to 6 hours.
