Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
With Fall just around the corner this is just the best. My husband loves it so much he asked that I always have some on hand in the refrigerator for a quick snack or meal. So simple...add all ingredients in a large sauce pan and simmer on low for 30 min. Garnish with fresh Basil. It is like a gourmet soup you would get at an expensive restaurant....Enjoy!!!
- (67 oz) jar of pasta sauce, i use prego (heart smart)
- 3/4 c
- sugar or sweetener (i use splenda) to sweeten to taste
- crushed dried basil leaves, as much or as little as you want, i like a lot
- milk or half & half, again as much or little as you like
- fresh basil for garnish
1Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and stir. Let simmer on low for 30 minutes to let flavors blend.
2Garnish with fresh basil and as a suggestionn serve with a salad and/or cornbread, biscuits, garlic bread, etc.
