Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

With Fall just around the corner this is just the best. My husband loves it so much he asked that I always have some on hand in the refrigerator for a quick snack or meal. So simple...add all ingredients in a large sauce pan and simmer on low for 30 min. Garnish with fresh Basil. It is like a gourmet soup you would get at an expensive restaurant....Enjoy!!!

Ingredients

1
(67 oz) jar of pasta sauce, i use prego (heart smart)
3/4 c
water
sugar or sweetener (i use splenda) to sweeten to taste
crushed dried basil leaves, as much or as little as you want, i like a lot
milk or half & half, again as much or little as you like
fresh basil for garnish

Directions Step-By-Step

Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and stir. Let simmer on low for 30 minutes to let flavors blend.

Garnish with fresh basil and as a suggestionn serve with a salad and/or cornbread, biscuits, garlic bread, etc.
