Ingredients

3 lb
red potatoes
1/4 c
butter
1/4 c
flour
8 c
half-and-half
16 oz
soft processed cheese
white pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 tsp
hot pepper sauce
1/2 lb
cooked bacon
1 c
cheddar cheese, shredded

Step-By-Step

1Dice unpeeled red potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes. Place in pan cover with water and boil 10-15 minutes. Until about 3/4 cooked.
2In a dutch oven, melt butter and flour mixing until smooth.
3Place over low heat and gradually add half-and-half, stirring constantly. Continue to cook until liquid begins to thicken.
4Add melted cheese and stir.
5Drain potatoes and add to cheese mixture. Stir in pepper, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Watch closely and stir.
6Place in a bowl and garnish with bacon and cheese.
