Diana's Quick Chili

This is very good and easy. Can cook longer if needed. My children and grandchildren love it.

ground lean beef, turkey or pork

chopped onions
1 c
chopped green bell pepper
1 c
chopped red bell pepper
3 clove
garlic, pressed or minced
3 Tbsp
chili powder
1 Tbsp
dried oregano
1 Tbsp
dried basil
1/2 tsp
crushed red pepper
1 Tbsp
ground cumin
1 Tbsp
2 tsp
2-16 oz
cans whole tomatoes, undrained
1-16 oz
can diced tomatoes(spicy), undrained
1-16 oz
can tomato sauce
1-6 oz
can tomato paste
4-15 oz
cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Directions Step-By-Step

Brown beef over medium heat in a large stockpot. Drain excess fat. Add onion, peppers and garlic. Stir in chili powder, organo, basil, red pepper and cumin, and mix well. Cook until onions are tender. Add sugar and salt. Stir in tomatoes, sauce, paste and beans. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer at least 1 hour. Serves 16.
