My Mom made this for my siblings and I when we were growing up and now we all serve it to our own family and friends. It's a very easy soup to make and it taste good. Really!! We serve ours with saltine crackers crushed and sprinkled on top of the soup.
My twin sister and her family likes to add frozen okra, lima beans and hot sauce to theirs and insists it tastes a lot like brunswick stew. They also serve it with crushed saltine crackers.
