In a large pot saute 1 medium chopped onion in 1 stick of butter. Keep fire on low and stir occasionally so the onion doesn't burn. Cook until onion is translucent.
Mix 1 lb. of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of dried mint leaves. Form meatballs about the size of a marble. Add all of the meatballs to the onion in the pan.
Cook meatballs with onion and butter until meatballs are browned all over. Fill pot 3/4 of the way full with water. Bring to a boil and add 1 cup of rice. Simmer on low heat, stirring often until rice is cooked.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
