- 1 pound ( 2 1/3 cups ), dry lentils
- 1 1/2 cups chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup snipped parsley
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram, crushed
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds meaty ham bone
- 7 cups water
How To Make ham – lentil soup, crock pot style

Step 1Rinse lentils; place in crock pot. Add vegetables, parsley, and bay leaf. Stir in salt, marjoram, and pepper; place ham bone atop. Add water.

Step 2Cover and cook on low heat setting for 9 to 11 hours.

Step 3Lift ham bone from soup. Remove meat from bone; discard bone. Return meat to cooker; season to taste. Remove bay leaf
