Ingredients

3/4 c onion diced
3/4 c celery diced
2 Tbsp butter
8 c chicken broth
28 oz tomato puree can
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tsp rosemary
15 oz cannellini beans 2 cans
2 c ditalini pasta
salt n peper to taste

Directions

In a stockpot over medium heat, saute onion and celery in butter until onion is transparent.

Add broth, tomato puree and seasoning.

Simmer over low heat for one hour.

Add beans and pasta to soup, heat through.

It was good, EZ to make...I love Pasta Fagioli at Olive Garden and have their recipe too.

Do you think that it's comparable to the Olive Garden one in taste??

Taste maybe close (but I put more in it with the other recipe).
I love the red kidney beans in it and the chunks of tomato, and some thin slices of carrots (julienned). Also they use a beef broth instead of ckn broth which I like the taste of, and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
I like oregano & parsley in mine, then I put in some homemade pasta sauce in it too.
They put in Tabasco sauce but I don't..it's optional anyway.

Okay I was wondering if Chicken Broth was closer to Olive Garden's or if it was the Beef on..and you add pasta sauce to the soup??
