Ingredients

1 lb
pinto beans, dried
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
garlic powder
2 Tbsp
chili powder
12 oz
bacon, fried and cut into pieces
1 can(s)
rotel
1
serrano pepper, seeded and chopped
1
onion, chopped
1 bunch
of cilantro, chopped
3 qt
chicken or beef broth, or water

Directions Step-By-Step

Clean and rinse beans. You can also soak them overnight in clean water. Cook beans alone in broth or water for at least an hour.

Add all other ingredients and stir well.

Cook beans for at least another hour. I like to cook them on medium for an hour, then drop it down to low and and simmer for another hour or so, but isn't necessary. You can also put them in the crock pot for the day if you want.
