My husband's family has a tradition to make Nuts 'n' Bolts during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I love it -- except I wanted more flavor. And, they use the package of flavorings that come out at that time. I wanted to make more of it from scratch. I found this recipe in one of my favorite recipe books Brand Name Slow Cooker Recipes and More. But, don't double it -- the weight of the cereal will crush it into crumbles before it's done!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


3 c
rice chex
2 c
corn chex
2 c
wheat chex
1 c
mixed nuts, preferably with no peanuts
1 c
pretzel snaps
1/2 c
4 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp
seasoned salt
1/2 tsp
garlic salt
1/2 tsp
onion salt


1Combine cereals, nuts, and pretzels in crock-pot.
2Mix melted butter with remaining ingredients in a small bowl; pour over cereal mixture in crock-pot and toss lightly to coat. DO NOT COVER CROCK-POT!
3Cook on High for two hours, stirring well every 30 minutes; turn to Low for 2 - 6 hours.
4Store in airtight container.
