Ingredients

20 c
popped popcorn
2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
butter
1/2 c
light corn syrup
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
baking soda
2 c
pecan halves
6 oz
chocolate flavored candy coating

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oven to 200 F.
In roasting pan place popcorn; set aside
In a 3 quart saucepan combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to full boil (12 to 14 minutes).
Continue cooking, stirring occasionally until candy thermoneter reaches 238 F. or small amoutn of mixture dropped into ice water forms a soft ball (4 to 6 minutes)

Remove from heat; stir in baking soda.
Pour over popcorn; sprinkle pecans over carmel mixture.
Stir until all popcorn is coated.

Bake 20 minutes; stir.
Continue baking 25 minutes.
Remove from oven; immediately place carmel corn on waxed paper.

In a 1 quart saucepan melt candy coating over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth (3 to 5 minutes).
Drizzle chocolate over carmel corn, cool completely; break into pieces.

Store in tightly covered container.
