I got up this morning and it hit me. It's August already. Where did the year go? Then I started thinking about the upcoming Holidays and the gifts I have made, still have to make and the ones I will have to buy. Next was what will I feed people, take to potlucks and parties and I was reminded of this oldie but goodie. I has been a favorite in our family for decades. I hope you like it too.
1Unwrap cream cheese and place in the middle of a serving dish.
2Shake the bottle of cocktail sauce and pour enough of it over the cream cheese to cover and puddle a bit. Garnish with something leafy and green.
3Open and drain the crab meat and spread over the cocktail sauce. Place a butter knife on the plate. It's ready to serve with your favorite crackers.
4Put the crackers in on a separate plate or bowl. I tried putting them around the edge of the serving plate and you would not believe the mess people made in just a few minutes. It also ruins the crackers.
