This wonderful cheese ball comes from my supervisor at the Indianapolis Star, Debbie Thomas. Her special instructions say to use one package of Philadelphia cream cheese and one of store brand. It achieves just the right taste that way.

Ingredients

1 pkg
(8 oz.) name brand cream cheese
1 pkg
(8 oz.) store brand cream cheese
1 small
onion, chopped
2 pkg
dried beef chipped, torn in small pieces
25
spanish olives (green) plus a little of the juice
2 dash(es)
worcestershire sauce

Step-By-Step

1Bring cream cheeses to room temperature before beginning. Chop onion in small pieces.
2In a large round bowl, mix all ingredients together. Loosen mixture around edges and gently transfer to plate or plastic container.
3Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bring to near-room temperature before serving.
4NOTE: May cover with nuts if desired.
