Ingredients For grits 'n greens

  • 1 bunch
    baby turnips, quartered
  • 4 c
    salted water
  • 1/2 c
    lima beans or butter beans, frozen
  • 3/4 c
    grits, instant
  • salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • pepper

How To Make grits 'n greens

  • 1
    Boil baby turnips in salted water, about 5 minutes. Add the chopped turnip greens & butter beans; cook 2 minutes. Remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon. Add grits to the water; add salt & cook, stirring, until thick, 5 minutes. Stir in the vegetables & butter. Season with pepper.
