Ingredients

2 medium
chayote, peeled and sliced thin
2 Tbsp
butter
1 Tbsp
olive oil
1/2 c
onion, chopped
1 clove
garlic, chopped fine
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
1/2 tsp
sugar
1/4 tsp
red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp
lime juice

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat butter and olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and garlic, saute until soft.

When onion is slightly brown, stir in chayote, salt, pepper, sugar and pepper flakes. Stir and cook for 5-10 minutes.

Add lime juice, stir and cook 5 minutes longer.
Serve as a side with chicken.
