sweet onions, sliced
amber ale or amber beer
1Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter. Let the butter melt and then turn temperature down to medium-low heat.
2Add onions and let cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and translucent. Season with a little salt & pepper.
3Slowly add the beer and cover the skillet. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
4Remove cover from skillet and cook an additional 5 minutes to allow some of the beer to evaporate.
