Sausage Apple Stuffing

This was a very nice alternative to traditional stuffing. We tried this for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

5 c
seasoned stuffing cubes
1 lb
sausage
1
large onion chopped
1
large apple peeled and choppedd
1
rib of celery chopped
2 Tbsp
butter
1 c
pecans
1/2 Tbsp
sage
1 1/4 c
chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste

Step-By-Step

1preheat oven to 325

2put stuffing in a large bowl and set aside. cook sausage in a large skillet until sausage is no longer pink. drain excess oil.

3cook diced apple and onion in butter until softened. Mix apple mixture and sausage in with the stuffing.

4stir in broth, nuts, salt, pepper and sage. toss to coat.

5transfer to greased 3 quart baking dish.

6cover and bake at 325 for 30 minutes. uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
