My whole family loves this recipe just as I do. I have been eating grits all my life (70 yrs) but I never tasted any as good as this. Gouda cheese is not a staple in most homes but I would walk a mile to get some to put in this recipe. Try this recipe, you won't be sorry!
Mix the chicken broth and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the grits slowly, stirring constantly. Turn the heat down and cover with a lid and cook until grits are done stirring occasionaly. I use quick grits.
Remove from stove and add additional ingredients. Stir until cheese and butter is melted.
I like to taste the chicken broth and milk and adjust the seasonings at the beginning.
