Directions
In a 6qt pot or large skillet, brown together the bacon and onions until bacon is crispy and onions are soft. Careful don't to burn either as it will alter the taste of your beans. Add ground beef and jalapeno peppers also if desired. Drain off drippings,Either in the 6qt pot or a slow cooker,(your choice depends on your preference) Combine the cooked bacon & onion with all the remaining ingredients, still well to blend all the flavors together. If using a pot on top of the stove heat thoroughly on very low heat (about 30-35 minutes)keep covered and stir to blend flavors at least 2-3 times while heating. Add your salt and pepper as needed when stirring together.
If time permits use a slow cooker, combine everything together and heat on low setting for 6 hours. Turn off let rest 15 minutes and then your ready to enjoy.
