Savory Rice



In the early 1980's my family found some relatives we never met in Mississippi. One of the cousins and I had a lot in common,we both loved to cook and we shared recipes for many years until she passed away.I treasure those recipe she sent me,this is one of them.
She was well over 80 when I met her and was still cooking and living on her own. Her recipe said broth,I use chicken,sometimes beef.

pinch tips: Non-Stick Rice Every Time


2 c chopped onions
2 c chopped mushrooms
1/4 c chopped parsley
3/4 c butter
4 c uncooked rice
2 quarts broth
1 1/2 t salt
1 t pepper
1 t. marjoram
1 t thyme

Directions Step-By-Step

Saute rice and vegetables in butter. Add remaining ingredients,simmer 20 mins.
