- 8-10 large
- potatoes, russets
- dutch oven
1Scrub the dirt off the potatoes and cut out any dings and nicks. Place the potatoes in the dutch oven. Cover with water and bring to a simmer. Simmer 15-18 minutes.
2Drain off the water and let the potatoes cool. You can then use them for super fast hash browns cut anyway you like them. Saute in butter or bacon grease and serve.
3You can also warm up one of these precooked potatoes in the microwave for a fast lunch or as a side for dinner. I tend to do this on shopping day or the day after then all is needed is the meat and salad. These precooked spuds keep well for most of the week if wrapped well in plastic wrap and some foil! Sure cuts down on making side dishes for dinner. You can even cube them, heat them and then mash with hot milk and butter. Cube them for fast soup making too! Super fast spuds anytime!!
