Garlic mashed potato casserole

- white potatoes peeled and cut in half
- cloves of garlic, peeled
- stick of unsalted butter
- 1x8 oz
- package of softened cream cheese
- 1 c
- milk, heated to almost a boil
1Boil the potatoes with the garlic cloves in the water.
Meanwhile soften the butter and cream cheese in a bowl large enough to add the boiled potatoes to as they finish cooking.Tip:I cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel to keep the heat in as I add the finished potatoes.
2When all the potatoes are cooked (test them with a fork) add them to the bowl on top of the stick of butter and pkg. of cream cheese. Heat the milk in a microwave safe bowl for about 1:20 minutes and add just before blending the whole thing with my hand mixer.
3Mix the potatoes,garlic, butter, cream cheese, and milk until of a smooth consistency. Pour into a greased casserole or souffle dish.top with pats of butter and bake for 30 minutes at 350. The top will have a slight crust depending on how much butter is added on top.
