Candied Yams, Mom's Way

- (29 ounce) can sweet potatoes
- 1/4 c
- butter, cut into pieces
- 1/2 c
- brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c
- miniature marshmallows
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Place sweet potatoes with juice in a medium baking dish. Distribute butter pieces evenly over the sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Layer with miniature marshmallows.
2Cover and bake in the preheated oven 25 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are tender and marshmallows have melted. Then turn broiler on and put back in to brown the top. Watch carefully as it browns fast. I have burned mine many a time.
3*** Most times I added 2 cans of sweet potaoes and drained one.
*** We like to mash them down on our plates and add butter. Mmmmm!
