Corn Fritters

In the 1960's a Supper Club closed in our area. It was a special treat for our family to go on Sunday after church because they had corn fritters.
This was their recipe and a requested dish for birthdays and special occasions. Hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

Ingredients

1/3 c
sugar
2 c
flour
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
2 Tbsp
powder milk
1/4 c
milk
2
eggs
2 Tbsp
oil
1/2 c
cream style corn
powdered sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oil to 355 degrees in heavy pan or deep fryer.

In a bowl-sift together first 5 ingredients.

Mix together next 4 ingredients, and add to dry ingredients. Mix well.

Drop by rounded teaspoons into hot hot. Allow to get quite dark brown.Remove one and split open to see if done in center. Remove and drain. Shake in paper bag with powdered sugar.
Serve hot. Makes 28 fritters.
