Kathie's StoryThis apple salad was very popular during the 1950's and 60's. Grandma like to take a dish of it to church supers.
coarsely chopped apples, about 2 medium apples
1 1/4 c
coarsely chopped walnuts
dash of allspice

1Place chopped apple, celery and walnuts in a bowl. In a smaller bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar, allspice and lemon juice. mix well.
2Toss mayonnaise mixture with apple mixture. Chill. Serve waldorf salad in a pretty bowl or over salad greens if desired.

My grandmother used to make this all the time in the summer, but I never got her recipe for it or could figure out what the sweet mixture she used on it was. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure if Grandma used Real Moyo or Miracle Whip. It might make a diffrence. Hope you enjoy it. :)
