- apples, granny smith, or your favorite cooking apple
- 1 bottle
- decorator cinnamon red-hot candies
1Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 chunky pieces by cutting into quarters the long way and then each quarter in half so that you have fat chunks. Place the apples in a pan with just enough water to barely cover them and dump in the red hot candies. Cook over medium heat until boiling and then for about 5-8 minutes more - just until the apples are fork-tender. Do not overcook, or you'll end up with pretty applesauce. Remove from heat and refrigerate in the juice. Serve cold. Best if done the day before.
