Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup butter, or margarine
- 2 tablespoons karo syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make buttermilk syrup

Step 1In a saucepan, combine the first five ingredients; bring to a boil. Boil for 7 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla

Step 2Note: To make more of a caramel flavored version, keep the heat on med while stirring to decrease foam. Stir constantly to avoid any burning and take off heat as soon as it is thickened and a little darker in color. About 5 more minutes
