This recipe is for all you PRIME RIB and BONE-IN RIBEYE steak lovers. I got this recipe from Dee Drummond and all I can say is WOW incredibly delicious sauce! I made this sauce Christmas 2012 and poured it over bone-in ribeye steaks. The onions and whiskey makes such flavorful combinations.
1Cook the onions in 9 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes. When the onions are brown, turn off the burner temporarily so you won't ignite your kitchen.
2Pour in the whiskey. As soon as it evaporates, turn the burner on medium-high heat and pour in the beef stock. Add salt and pepper, then allow the mixture to bubble and reduce by half.
3Whisk in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, then reduce the heat to low. Whisk in 1 1/2 cups cream. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken about 20 minutes or to your preference. Serve with beef, baby!
