Debby's Story

This sauce is really good on ribs or chicken. I don't like liquid smoke myself so I never add it to the sauce. It keeps really well in the fridge for a long time.

Similar to Kansas City BBQ sauce - spicy and a bit sweet.

You can adjust the heat to your taste by increasing or decreasing the amount of cayenne pepper.

Ingredients

1/4 c
cider vinegar
1/2 c
water
2 Tbsp
sugar
1 Tbsp
prepared mustard
1/2 tsp
ground black pepper
1/4 tsp
cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
1
peeled and thinly sliced medium onion (i sometimes use 1 tbsp. dried, minced onion instead)
1/4 c
butter
