Meatless Spagetti Sauce

Sometimes I need a sauce without meat to go with my meatballs, so this is it. I can't seem to make "just a little" so I freeze the leftovers for another quick meal.

Ingredients

1 medium
sweet onion, finely diced
5 small
cloves of garlic, minced or finely grated

28 oz. cans, crushed tomatoes w/basil

14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes w/basil, garlic & oregano
1 Tbsp
dried italian seasoning
1 Tbsp
dried basil
1 tsp
dried oregano
1 tsp
lemon juice
2 Tbsp
sugar
1 tsp
coarse sea salt
1/4 c
olive oil

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large pot add olive oil, bell pepper, onion, & garlic, saute till tender.

Add crushed tomatoes, drain juice from diced tomatoes into pan & chopped diced tomatoes slightly more, then add to pan.

Add herbs, (place in palm of hand and rub, this releases the flavor some), salt, sugar, & lemon juice.

Simmer for an hour, taste, add more seasoning if needed.
