Homemade Very Vanilla Bean Sugar

Rebecca C

This vanilla bean-flecked sugar uses the entire vanilla pod for an intense flavor. Blending the sugar and vanilla bean in the food processor yields a superfine texture that's great for stirring into tea or coffee.

1Place the sugar and vanilla bean pieces into a food processor (you can also use an immersion blender with a food processor attachment). Pulse the processor on and off several times, until there are no longer visible pieces of vanilla pod, and sugar is finely textured, with vanilla beans throughout.

2Place the sugar in an airtight container and store in a dry place. Let stand for at least 1 week.
