Much better than store bought! You can store this syrup in your refrigerator or even freeze it.

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
I have a confession to make, I may never go back to maple syrup again! This syrup was so buttery and sweet you don't even need to use extra butter (but we all know an extra pat of butter doesn't hurt). This is delicious!

Hint: I let the mixture boil for about 2 minutes, then let it simmer. Thickened up perfectly!

Ingredients

1 stick
butter
1 c
granulated sugar
1/2 c
buttermilk
1 tsp
corn syrup
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
vanilla

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Mix all ingredients (except baking soda and vanilla) in a sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let simmer for 1 minute.
2
Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
