steak marinade

My husband won't eat a steak unless I have marinated it with this marinade I came up with. I am a cook who doesn't measure. My kids requested that I start measuring their favorite recipes so that they can recreate the same tastes from mom's cooking when I leave this mortal world. I managed to write it down for them. It will take even a very cheap cut of steak and make it mouth-watering. Just leave it in the marinade longer.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Upgrade your steak dinner by using this steak marinade. It will make your steaks super flavorful and tender. With a slightly sweet but bold flavor, this reminds us of an elevated teriyaki sauce. Soy sauce and sweet chili sauce give the marinade an Asian feel. Balsamic flavor not only adds flavor but also tenderizes the steak. This simple marinade would be good on chicken breasts or pork, too.

How To Make steak marinade

Test Kitchen Tips
We ran the marinade through a small blender to fully emulsify the marinade. There was just enough marinade for 6 New York strip steaks. We marinated the steaks for 6 hours.
  • Mix the ingredients with a whisk until thickened or emulsified.

Mix the ingredients with a whisk until thickened or emulsified.
  • Place the steaks and marinade in a resealable plastic bag.

Place the steaks in a resealable plastic bag or casserole dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks. If you are using a good rib eye or New York strip, a couple of hours is sufficient. If you are using a leaner, less expensive cut, marinade overnight for a tender juicy steak. While the steaks are marinating, flip them a few times or massage them if they are in a baggie.
  • Grill marinated steaks.

When you are ready to cook, pull the steaks out of the marinade and place them on a hot grill. Rub them around in the marinade before cooking. Don't scrape off the marinade. That's it! It's also great for a roast.
