This recipe is simmered in a crock pot for a total of 24 hours. I have been told that it's not as sweet as they are used to and others say it's just perfect, not too sweet.
ENJOY!

Serves:

7 - 9 half pints

Ingredients

20 c
peeled cored and sliced apples (fill to the top a large 6 quart crock pot) any type of apple works out great!
1 3/4 c
apple cider
2 c
white sugar
2 tsp
ground cloves
2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1 dash(es)
ginger (my dash is about 1/8 teaspoon)
1 dash(es)
nutmeg
1 dash(es)
allspice

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Peel, core and slice your apples. Hopefully you have a fancy gadget that does it all for you. Fill your crock pot clear to the top where the lid just about sits on top of all the apples.
2
**** I use crock pot liners, helps with the mess and works fabulously ****

Pour your apple cider on top and cook on low for 14 hours.
I usually like to do it just before I go to bed.
3
After 14 hours, ladle your apples in a food processor a little at a time and puree. You will need to have a bowl to place the finished product as you go
4
After all is pureed, place your product back into your crock pot.
5
Add your sugar and spices, stir to blend and cook for another 10 hours.
6
Now your ready to start canning!
7
These make wonderful gifts. Have fun!!!!
