Oven Baked(not fried!) Buffalo Wings

36 chicken wings cut in two
1 pkg italian dressing mix
1 1/2 qt hot sauce( i use frank's brand,if you can find it,any kind will do.)
4-5 Tbsp roux
1/2 pt water
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Rinse and pat dry the wings,place in a large bowl and season with the spices,coat them well. Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees. Arrange the wings two inches apart and bake for 45-50 minutes.
While the wings are baking,using a large non-stick pot or skillet,bring the roux to a simmer,add 1/2 the packet of Italian dressing mix,the hot sauce and when it begins to get really thick,thin it with the water.
Transfer the wings to a large mixing bowl when done,pour the sauce over the wings and toss and serve hot! Choose your favorite blue cheese dip or ranch dressing,serve with celery stix,and enjoy the game!! :)

Hi Bea, I'm glad you like the recipe! If you find that they are too spicy or hot for you,just use less of the sauce and a little more water and that should help. The wings should be nice and crispy when they come out of the oven too,thanks again! :)

Thanks, Eddie. I'll most likely cut back a tad on the hot sauce and add a tad bit more of garlic powder. These sound fantastic!!!!
