2Sautee' the onion and garlic with the butter in a skillet until soft.
3Mix together all the other ingredients. Leave out 1/2 of one of the bags of cheese as you will put in on top of the dip later. Also pour in the marinate from the jar of artichokes. Add in the onions and garlic when they're done.
4Pour all ingredients in a 10" pie plate and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or so until the top and corners of the dip turn good and brown. Take the dip out of the oven and sprinkle remaining half of the cheese on top of the dip and continue baking it until the cheese is completely melted.
5Take it out of the oven and let it cool a little bit as it will be extremely hot. Enjoy with tortilla chips or Baked Pita chips. Crackers go good with it too.
