Carol's Notes:

Baked Taco Dip: has been a big hit with our family for years. I will prepare this for dinner on the nights we have make your own nachos. Also works well for a taco salad.

Directions

1
Brown ground beef, drain off fat. Add 1 pkg. of taco seasoning mix and 1/2 cup of water. Cook for 15 minutes until water cooks off.
2
Put seasoned ground beef into a casserole dish and spoon at least a cup of picante sauce over the beef. Top the picante sauce with the chopped green onions. Then top with the grated cheddar cheese.
3
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
4
Serve baked taco dip with favorite tortilla chips. Chopped fresh tomatoes, black olives and sour cream make great toppings for dip.

Freda, if we are having a big crowd I just double the recipe. This is usually the first thing gone on the buffet table. The nice thing too is you can make it as spicy as you want by using "hot" picante sauce and/or adding chopped jalapenos.
