Ingredients

1 c sugar
3/4 c cider vinegar
1/2 c vegetable oil
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can(s) green beans
1 can(s) yellow wax beans
1 can(s) kidney beans
1 can(s) black beans
1 can(s) garbanzo beans
1 can(s) great northern beans
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 large red bell pepper, chopped

Deanna's Notes:

I adapted my grandmother's 3 bean salad to come up with this colorful, flavorful version.

 

Directions

Combine sugar, vinegar, oil and salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.

Drain all beans, rinse in cold water, drain and add to bowl. Add onions and peppers. Mix well. Marinate in refrigerator for 24 hours for best flavor.

NOTES: You can use any type of canned bean you prefer - cannelini, great northern, pinto, red beans, small white, cranberry, etc.

Mmmm Yum! My mom makes a 3 bean salad thats been a family fav forever but this one has so many different beans and flavors. It sounds so yummy! I'm gonna make it for the 4th of July at our family cookout!

yum..i also make the three beans kind but like the different colors in this one...only thing i would keep from mine is the celery seeds...i find it really gives it a great taste!!...i only shake some on top and mix through..thx for the great idea!!
