Tami's StoryThis is a staple at every holiday meal. It may sound funny but this light jello salad is delicious. Enjoy!
1 1/2 c
1-20 oz can(s)
crushed pineapple (undrained)
1On the stove in a small saucepan melt together the first 3 ingredients until liquid (7-up, jello and marshmallows) blend in cream cheese and mix with a wire whip until smooth. Cool
2Blend in pineapple and walnuts. Refrigerate until semi-set, about 1 1/2 hours.
3Add cool whip and mayo to semi set gelatin mix. Stir until a fluffy lime green and all ingredients are well mixed in. Chill overnight. You can decorate with pineapple rings, cherries, nuts...or eat as is. Happy Holidays!

Do you combine the mayo and cool whip, then put it on top of salad

I use a 20 0z can of crushed pineapple. As for the mayo cool whipI don't combine them I mix them into the semi-set salad. The salad ends up about the consistency of whipped cool whip and a light lime green. It will set up a little more when you refrigerate it.
