Ingredients

2 can(s)	tropical fruit salad (large cans)
2 can(s)	mandarin oranges (small cans)
	small marshmallows
2 jar(s)	maraschino cherries, drained
1 c	chopped nuts (optional)
16 oz	sour cream

Joanne's Notes:
I can thank my younger brother for this recipe. He found a recipe card for a fruit salad that looked really good, but lost it. So we improvised.

*Dollar General & Family Dollar sells the best Tropical Fruit.

My mother-in-law likes to add sliced fresh bananas when I make this at her house!

Directions

drain cans and cherries (the kids like to drink the juices, my nephew calls it "Juice of the Fruit"), add all fruit, marshmallows & sour cream and you are done! This can be served immediately, but if you refrigerate it for a bit, the marshmallows absorb any extra juice & I think that it has a better consistency.

I just made some yesterday and it is gone already :( I like to leave a little extra of the cherry juice so it turns out pink.

Joanne, I also add chunk pineapple and coconut. I've made this for years at Easter and call it Five Cup Salad. We never have left overs either. Thanks xx

I use to make this and I used coolwhip (small tub) and I only used 6oz. of sour cream. I have made it and I didn't have sour cream to put in it and it was good without it.I will have to make this. I haven't made it in a long time. Thanks for the reminder.

I have also used pineapples and coconut and I think my family liked it better when I used the ingredients you have listed plus the cool whip, pineapples, coconut and omit the sourcream. either way it is still a great salad.

You can use sour cream and cool whip. I always added mandarin oranges and kiwi. After I mixed all my stuff, I topped it with quarter moon shaped kiwi wedges to make it look pretty.
