Debi's Story

Every gathering I go to I'm asked to bring this delicious salad/dessert. People ask for this recipe all the time and are amazed at how simple it is. Always a first rate covered dish choice. It's a hit with the kids as well as the kids at heart! Can be made fairly fat-free or sugar free without losing any flavor.

Ingredients

1 can(s)
cherry pie filling (can use sugar free)
1 can(s)
pineapple (juice or syrup, whatever you like), mostly drained, leaving about one fourth of the liquid
1 can(s)
sweetened condensed milk (fat-free maybe if you want)
1 8 oz tub of cool whip (fat free or sugar free ?)
1 half to 3 fourths of a bag of mini marshmallows
(the above can sizes of pie filling and pineapple are not the larger sizes, just a little bigger than a veggie can)
*optional add 1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (i use pecans) to recipe

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Mix first 3 ingredients in a large bowl
2
Add cool whip
3
Stir in one half to 3 fourths a bag of marshmallows
4
Serve immediately, or refrigerate for several days. Enjoy Anytime!

Thanks for submitting this recipe, Debi! We had an incredibly delicious cherry salad at a church dinner (following a funeral), loved it, but I wasn't able to get the recipe. Thanks to you, I"ve got it now!

This sounds so good and easy to make. I'm going to give it a try for a Christmas Eve surprise.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. I'm glad that you all are enjoying this recipe! I love your suggestions on variations and will try them myself! Pistachios sound like a great addition instead of pecans and I really must try putting this in a graham pie shell and freezing it! I wish you all a wonderful holiday filled with loving family, great friends and good food!
