Stir together dry ingredients and cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg and cream; add to dry mixture all at once, stirring just enough to moisten. Spread dough in a greased 8x1 1/2-inch round baking pan, building up edges slightly. Bake at 450 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on rack for 5 minutes. Split into 2 layers and lift to off carefully. Butter bottom layer. Spoon berries and cream between layers and over top. Serve warm.
