I got this from Hints by Heloise. I put it here so I wouldn't keep losing the recipe. It works great!

Birds

Ingredients

1 c
lard (rendered fat of hogs, not vegetable oil)
1 c
peanut butter (crunchy or plain) i use natural no sugar or salt
1 c
flour
2 c
instant oatmeal
2 c
cornmeal
1 c
raisins
1 c
ground peanuts (unsalted)

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Carefully melt the lard and peanut butter in a very large pot over low heat, then add all of the other ingredients and stir to mix.
2
Pour into a large pan and put in the refrigerator overnight. It will firm up.
3
Cut into blocks to fit your suet feeder. Or you can reuse the containers that commercial suet comes in.
4
Heloise says: Why spend a bunch of money on fancy feeder hooks when a good old coat hanger will work great? Jut bend it into a hook on each end, or use tow if you need it longer and you have a strong inexpensive suet hanger!
