Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
1 lb
pork sausage
1
green bell pepper, chopped
1
onion, chopped
salt and pepper
1 jar(s)
14-ounce pizza sauce
1 tsp
italian seasoning
1/2 tsp
dried basil
1
loaf italian bread
1 pkg
sliced pepperoni
2 c
mozzarella cheese

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 350°.

Fry ground beef, sausage, bell pepper, onion, salt and pepper until browned; drain well.

Add pizza sauce, Italian seasoning and basil. Stir to coat and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

Split Italian bread in half lengthwise; place on large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil.
Place a layer of pepperoni on bottom half of bread.

Add a layer of the meat mixture.

Sprinkle the top with the Mozzarella cheese.

Place top half of bread on the layers.

Wrap foil tightly round sandwich and bake 15 minutes.

Cut into 6 pieces and serve hot.

....... I couldn't hardly wait to get all of the ingredients I needed to make this and I got everything yesterday. I am putting it in the oven right now. The meat is already yummy all by it's self..( well I had to taste it..lol ) I just know the finished product is going to be scrumptious . Thank you so much for this recipe Teresa. Wow, what a combo of ingred's for a sandwich! This is 1 I've got to share w/1 of our daughters, whose bf won't eat anything unless its got some kind of meat in it! And she's always looking for new meal ideas. Of course, gonna try it in our home, too. I'm not normally hungry this early in the morning but my mouth is starting to water :D
